Participating Institutions who would like to use the SMART IRB Reliance System to document the use of the SMART IRB Agreement for a study must designate and register a Reliance Point of Contact (POC). In the Reliance System, this role is also known as the Site Admin.
If you represent an institution wishing to join the SMART IRB but your institution has not yet established an institutional account in the SMART IRB Reliance System, please contact us and we will establish your account. When contacting us, please provide the federal assurance (e.g. FWA) of the institution in question, as well as the e-mail address for the person(s) who will be completing the SMART IRB application on behalf of the institution.
When establishing the new institution, we recommend reviewing our user guides on information including creating or updating institutional details, institutional profile, updating key points of contact, sending the V3.0 agreement to your Institutional Official, and more.
