Overview of user Roles
The Online Reliance System supports multiple user roles with varying capabilities within the system.
- Submitter, usually an investigator or their designee, can submit requests for reliance.
- Reliance Point of Contact (POC), usually a member of the institution's IRB staff or human research protection program, reviews requests for reliance involving their institution.
- Reliance POC Backup, usually a member of the institution's IRB staff or human research protection program, serves as a backup POC for their institution.
Note: the System allows a Reliance POC Backup to perform all the same actions as the Reliance POC within the Online Reliance System; it is up to each institution to determine how they will locally manage and process requests in the Online Reliance System.
