What are ‘Permissions’ in the SMART IRB Reliance System?

The SMART IRB Reliance System includes roles with standard permissions allowed based on ‘General User’, ‘Site Admin’ and ‘Super Admin’ designations. The SMART IRB recognizes that not every institution will utilize the Reliance System in the same way and has therefore empowered Site Admins at institutions to designate certain permissions to individuals and roles based on the needs of their institution. For example, some institutions who prefer to have their IRB/HRPP handle all aspects of reliance requests may opt to disable some or all abilities for their study teams (general users) to create reliance requests.
