How does the Letter of Acknowledgment work?

The Letter of Acknowledgment (or 'LOA') is one of several ways for Participating Institutions to execute reliance arrangements under the SMART IRB Agreement. An executed LOA is the same as an executed reliance arrangement in the SMART IRB Reliance System or IREx. When executing an LOA, it is not necessary to complete a Reliance System or IREx reliance request, and vice versa.
