Can the SMART IRB Agreement be amended?

The Agreement may be amended from time to time. Proposed material changes will collected by the SMART IRB Executive Committee and will be subject to an open comment period in which all Participating Institutions may participate. Such a change might include a change to the eligibility criteria for participation in SMART IRB. Not all amendments will require re-execution of Joinder Agreements by Participating Institutions. If an amendment is finalized that does not require such re-execution, and a Participating Institution is not able to accept the terms of the amended Agreement, the Participating Institution may terminate its participation in SMART IRB as described in the SMART IRB Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for "Ending Site Participation in SMART IRB or Specific Research."
