No, participation in the SMART IRB Version 3.0 Agreement Indemnification Addendum is optional. Institutions may join the optional Indemnification Addendum any time, provided they have also signed V3.0. Please note that an institution may not join the optional Indemnification Addendum without having joined the V3.0 Agreement.
