If your institution joined under Version 1.0 or 2.0 and has not joined Version 3.0, here is what you can and cannot do.

To join Version 3.0 you follow the same steps as a new institution — re-verify your institution record and contacts, then generate and e-sign the V3.0 Joinder. Version 3.0 is not compatible with earlier versions, so a new Joinder is required. See Join SMART IRB (step by step).
Migrating existing studies. Institutions may move a legacy arrangement to Version 3.0 if both the Reviewing IRB Institution and the Relying Institution are V3.0 signatories and both agree. Version 3.0 arrangements cannot be moved back to a legacy version.
