Study teams and Site Admins can add, edit, or remove research personnel, including site investigators, on a reliance request at any time. Being listed on a request lets that person view it in their dashboard and access its information, including uploaded documents. For view access to work, the email address listed for the person must match the email they use to sign in. Research personnel from the Overall PI's home institution can also edit other parts of the request; see Editing Reliance Requests for what can be edited and when. Every site must have a designated site investigator, and the Overall PI cannot currently be changed.
To add additional research personnel to a request:
- To add research personnel, navigate to the Reliance Dashboard, select the vertical ellipses and 'Edit Request':
Go to 'Site Details' and select the site where you want to add or update personnel.
Select 'Add Personnel', or use the edit/remove option next to an existing person.
4. Enter or update the person's role, email address, and other details, then save.
Listing research personnel in the Reliance System does not replace the usual local and Reviewing IRB process for personnel change amendments, which should be handled between the institutions involved.
When a site investigator changes, the determination PDF on the request updates automatically and does not need to be countersigned. The SMART IRB Agreement does not require re-executing the reliance arrangement. If your institution's policy requires an arrangement naming the current site investigator, download the updated PDF from the request.
